About me
My name is Neha Krishna, the Style Director & Founder of Atelier Maharanibagh. My journey is a tribute to the extraordinary essence of life's everyday splendor, driven by an innate love for all things beautiful. For me, dressing up isn't merely for special occasions; it's a celebration of being alive.
In my past life, I navigated the corporate landscapes of giants like Google and Amazon. However, it was in the realm of fashion and jewelry that I found my true calling. Here, I use these art forms as my canvas for self-expression, drawing inspiration from icons like Coco Chanel, Dolce and Gabbana, and Sabyasachi.
With every design, I champion authenticity and encourage everyone to embrace their differences, reminding us all to stay beautiful, inside and out.
In the world of Atelier Maharanibagh, conformity has no place. Here, self-expression knows no bounds, and I invite you to join me in embracing our true selves and reveling in the beauty that surrounds us. Dare to be different. Stay beautiful.
XOXO,
Neha
Crafted through defiance
Ah, the picturesque town of Jaipur, the Pink City of Rajasthan, is where my story begins. Born into a family of diplomats and politicians, I was surrounded by a rich tapestry of heritage. My father (Poppy), served as a United Nations diplomat, while my paternal aunt is the daughter-in-law of India's esteemed second prime minister, Late Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri. Adding to this illustrious lineage, my mother distinguished herself with a Master's degree in Botany and Zoology.
Fashion and glamor were never the main topics of discussion in our household. Despite the conservative environment that sheltered me from the allure of the spotlight under my father's protective gaze, my rebellious spirit yearned to challenge boundaries and shatter norms.
Jewelry encounter
Expressing my fondness for affordable jewelry, I find immense joy in the charm of pieces that beautifully balance cost-effectiveness with exquisite design. My preference lies in discovering treasures that not only compliment my style but also respect my budget. It's the thrill of finding unique and well-crafted pieces that don't break the bank, allowing me to indulge in the pleasure of accessorizing without compromising on quality or aesthetics. Affordable jewelry, to me, embodies the perfect blend of financial prudence and style expression, making each piece a delightful addition to my collection.
Here at Maharanibagh you will find gorgeous pieces that go from classics to designer inspired to the latest kundan and polki. There is a little bit for everyone and for all pockets.
I’m of the opinion that…
Getting dressed should bring joy.. My approach to dressing is consistent, whether for work or a holiday—prioritizing comfort yet embracing joy and fun. I like owning classic pieces but I also love the latest and the trendiest trinkets!
Also why confine your jewelry to drawers and bank vaults, only to be brought out for a 'special' moment? What's the purpose of a diamond necklace if it can't be worn every day? In the end, clothes and jewelry are just things. They shouldn't demand a fortune to possess.
Where is my jewelry made?
My jewelry is for most part made in India but we also curate and source from jewelers in Italy and Belgium. Regardless of which part of the world it comes from, I can proudly say it is “Made with love” by many wonderful women and small artisans around the globe. By buying from Atelier Maharanibagh, you are supporting these small businesses and craftswomen, and I can tell you that it truly makes all the difference.
LOVE, xoxo!
Neha Krishna,
